ECOMAR is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 by Theresa Zabell a two-time Spanish Olympic gold medalist in Sailing, among other emblematic championship achievements.  Her gratitude to the sea for all she was able to obtain, has been the inspiration for the commitment to pay back.  The organization objectives from the outset were to care for the environment through sport, and it is target, mostly to young people. ECOMAR is dedicated to the education for the care of our seas, flora, and fauna.

After 20 years ECOMAR continues to raise awareness among young people, through specific programs how  water sports coexist with the ocean, workshops on care and respect for the planet, sponsorship of coastal cleanups, and responsible care of our body.  The idea is to promote ecological values to the youngsters and immersing them in the culture of marine respect.
